We select all our single purpose bomb dogs primarily from sporting breeds, although larger breed bomb detection dogs are tested and selected at clients request.  Our general bomb dog training policy is in line with current European practices and is to only deploy single purpose dogs for bomb dog detection duties.

When deployed in the public domain sporting breed bomb dogs tend to leave a less threatening impression on the public generally. In a situation of a heightened alert status smaller breeds of Bomb Detection Dog are unlikely to provoke undue concern when deployed.
